These guys are great. From sales to install to service, everyone I've worked with or talked to has been great. Very knowledgeable. They care about what they do and about doing it right. I can't recommend them enough. 5 ⭐s all the way. Since my fist post, we've replaced our upstairs AC unit now. Same experience as the first. This is just a great company with great employees. Today (7/24/2021) David Hood came out when we had an issue with one of the ACs. He was out fast. Took his time. Super friend and polite. AC is back up and running great. There is no company that I would recommend more for anything than The Comfort Authority. Sept 2025. Had an issue with the AC. Glenn was out the next day on time. Assessed the situation and quickly found the issue. Had us up and running in no times. Glenn was great. Very resourceful. Super nice. I called the Comfort Authority because I was not happy with my previous HVAC service company. I chose them based on universally positive reviews on Google, Better Business Bureau, Yelp and Angie's List. Making an appointment was easy. Rick Haven arrived on schedule and listened patiently as I explained all the problems I was having with my system. He then proceeded to do a thorough examination of our compressor and air handler. He showed us pictures of each component and explained all the readings he obtained in his tests. We now feel confident our system is in good working order. Thanks Rick. Hope you enjoyed the soup. This is a follow-up review. It’s been 2 years since my original post. Unfortunately, time had not been kind to our 10 year old HVAC system. It’s time for a replacement. During our annual checkup, our technician, Tony, pointed out a couple of costly repairs that needed to be done. Rather than sinking $2000 into an old system, we agreed to meet with one of their specialists to discuss a new system. Derrick arrived the same day and spent about 90 minutes evaluating our system and discussing our options. We decided to go with a new system that could be installed the next day. The following morning 2 technicians arrived and began the work of removing our outdoor unit as well as the air handler which is in our second-floor attic. Gary and Rob were excellent. Very thorough, neat and professional. It took more than 8 hours to complete the installation. We now have a reliable system that we hope will keep our home cool for many years to come. Thanks for the hard work. Follow-up review. I called the Comfort Authority since it was the first cold day of the season since our new system was installed. The system was not blowing in warm air, so I gave them a call and they were able to send someone right out to diagnose the problem. Apparently a valve the controls whether the system produces cool or warm air was not tightened properly when the system was installed. Problem quickly solved by technical Glenn Betancourt. Thanks. Follow-up review. Michael Kennedy came out and performed our annual system check-up and maintenance. He was very thorough and communicated well throughout the process. He identified a failed UV unit that has been on the system and its predecessor for a number of years and was able to replace it with a new unit during the same visit. Very happy with Michael's work and the Comfort Authority in general. Follow-up review. Ura came out to perform our annual system check. He was very thorough and friendly and seemed to be interested in us as people rather than just customers. While he didn’t find anything wrong with our 2 year old system, he did point out a couple of maintenance items that needed attention. He was able to replace the UV bulb in our air handler and t to he bulb in our air purification system during the same visit. Very professional job and a truly pleasant person to have in our home. We hope to have him back next year when it time for our check up. Thanks

Luis took great care of us. He is a very nice, polite young man. He explained everything he was doing while he was doing it. He showed me the leak detector which was unfortunately beeping when placed next to both our units. He worked with me to get me the best price on our repair. We are happy to know he will be coming back when he gets the part to install it. I bought a service plan because I trust this company and will be using them again (when I have to). I definitely recommend them.

Update 2025: regular maintenance performed on 9/15/25. My tech Ura, was very thoughtful and thorough. I would continue to give them 5 starts! I have continued to use The Comfort Authority to service my AC since installation. The technicians are always prompt, knowledgeable and friendly. This visit Luis performed maintenance and completed everything thoroughly. Luis is professional, informative and a genuine good guy. I’ll continue to use them and recommend this company to others. The Comfort Authority replaced my air conditioner two weeks ago after a bad experience with another company. Everyone at The Comfort Authority was knowledgeable, friendly, seemed to enjoy their jobs and are happy with the company they work for. From the first contact with Derek to the final QC with Peter, they answered all my questions, showed up when they said they would, performed the install and cleaned up afterwords. I was not pressured by Derek for a sale and he worked with me to select the right solution which was installed the next day. A lot of respect for these guys working in the attic for 10 hours, in Florida, in the summer. Justin, Rae and Seth (and Peter and one other person were here for a bit), worked non stop during a long day. They were friendly and explained the process throughout the day. They even brought a portable AC unit for me to use in my home office the day of the install. Overall, this company seems to be efficient, knowledgeable, professional and has trained their team members well. The employees and how they treat their customers make or break a company so hats off to the owner and thanks to: Derek, Peter, Justin, Rae, Seth and Beverly who all represented this company very well. I look forward to continuing a relationship with this company for any AC needs.

We had a late day appt. for our A/C unit chk-up. U Ra Shon was the technician that arrived at the time he said. He was Very polite, focused, and quickly started the process. An hour or so later he was done! He was thorough & professional. Over all.....the Best experience I have had w/ nearly any company coming to my home to assist. I am very pleased w/ his wrk the review of out unit & results.

Even though we could not afford the requested service, Peyton and Comfort Authority deserve a good rating for providing a positive experience. Kayla, with customer service, reached out immediately to schedule an appointment. She followed up with texts. Peyton, the technician, arrived on time and was friendly, knowledgeable, and thorough. We requested a new spigot for the backyard, as well as replacements for old ones. He did a careful assessment of our plumbing and property. He explained the work details and gave us an estimate. The cost exceeded our budget, so he offered alternative options, which we also had to decline. Even so, we felt he was honest. We also appreciated that he respected our situation and did not pressure us. Thank you, Peyton and Comfort Authority.

Old system was too expensive to repair. The techs that performed the replacement worked hard all day to get it completed. Installation has worked flawlessly!

Edit 9/10/2025: Back again! For the past few years I have been a Comfort Authority "Comfort Plan" member and have received quite a few perks of the membership. Today might have been one of the BEST perks of all - a simple, honest walkthrough of my whole home to show me tips and tricks to keep my house at a comfortable temperature year round and especially during the FL summer! What prompted the call was that yesterday I had a run capacitor fail on my outdoor AC unit; knowing a thing or two about electricity I was able to replace it myself after doing the proper research - however I was concerned as to what CAUSED the capacitor to fail (as I just replaced it 15 months ago). So I called up Comfort Authority last night and this morning they sent CHRIS D. to my home. Chris checked my hard start kit (which they had previously installed) and after a very thorough discussion we determined the most likely culprit of my bad capacitor was AC short cycling. This sort cycling was a result of the natural location of the AC handler and thermostat in my home. Chris gave me an informative list of steps from changing my vents and strategically running ceiling fans to new thermostat and sensor options that will solve my temperature issues and my short-cycling. As a technical nerd, I had so many questions. Chris really seemed to care about not only helping me to understand the issues I am dealing with but he wanted me to save money as well - he wasn't just there to sell me new parts! Best of all, as a member, this visit was complimentary. I appreciate this company so much and they will continue to get my business and great reviews.... days like today and professional advice like this make being a comfort plan member worth every penny! ...... Edit April 2024: I've been a happy Comfort Authority customer for my AC and now they added the plumbing business! I'm thrilled with the professionalism, friendliness and beautiful installation of my new water heater. Eric and Gary did an excellent job on a difficult Hyrid Heat pump water heater. The price was right and the service was Excellent as always. The CA is my goto company for all my plumbing needs now... Thanks guys! ...... I had my AC installed by this company a few years ago. Steve and his team were exceptional then, and remain my go-to team for my HVAC needs. I just finished an inspection and the tech was on time, courteous and answered all of my nerdy questions about AC systems and airflows. Definitely would recommend these guys and their classical "golden rule type" friendly business model to anyone. This is one of the better companies (not just HVAC) that I've had the pleasure working with in Tampa or anywhere!

He was very personable and professional as he thoroughly explained the maintenance checklist he would perform. He discussed with me as he conducted the inspection which a/c areas didn't require any additional work and those that did. Glenn showed me videos of the maintenance performed and provided 4 reasonable options for additional work needed. He is very professional and friendly. I give him a 5 star rating and recommend his work highly.

On time, professional, thorough, and explained every bit of the service. They went the extra mile to contact the AC manufacturer so our repair was covered under the warranty! The annual service plan pays for itself each year with the inspection, cleaning and service by keeping the equipment running well. Top notch! Update: 6/21/2023 We have CA out for our annual inspection and cleaning. Since we have been a subscriber of this service they come out every year, take everything apart, inspect it and clean it. Then they perform diagnostics and produce a huge, detailed report with photos and videos. We have not had one issue since having the annual service completed and allows us to catch anything before it’s an issue. The tech today, Romeo Reyes, was great as usual. Polite, efficient, cleans up the work area better than he found it, explained everything and promoted asking questions. The CA team is top notch! You find cheaper or more expensive but their service, their rates, and their quality output makes them 5 star and top notch in my book. They are very reasonably priced and respond asap! Great job again! Update 02-21-2024 Our water heater started leaking and with the new plumbing service offered by CA and our history of receiving great service I called them out. The install was just a few hours, super clean, transparent costs provided upfront with no laundry list of add on fees, and cleaned the area better than what it was when they arrived! We went with the Rheem unit, you can control on your phone or with Alexa! Excellent plumber Chris, excellent customer service from the office, and a good price! 5 of 5! Excellent local company who takes the time to hire good people!

Tech Ura and Robert were kind, honest, and thorough. They respected that I don't wear shoes in the house by wearing shoe covers. I would want these techs to come to my house in the future. Professional and explained things in layman's terms.

Technician was prompt and knowledgeable and friendly. He did scratch a closet door when taking our new coil to the attic, but to his credit he proactively pointed it out to me, and they have offered to come and fix it. I’ll update the review if that doesn’t get done in a timely manner. Update: They called within 24 hours to schedule a fix, and they offered times within the next 2-3 business days. They sent out a field manager who fixed the scratch and it looks good. More importantly, our HVAC is working well!

Mr. Glenn Sanchez Betancourt was our technician today for an emergency service call on our air conditioner. He was extremely responsive, answering the call after work hours. His professionalism and expertise were exemplary in every aspect. He was thorough in his assessment, staying focused on the needed repairs and avoiding the sales pitch that everyone typically gets from an emergency AC repair call. I used Google to check the pricing of his repairs and he was on par especially given the responsiveness and his efforts to keep us apprised of the specifics of the repair. This company will be our first call from this point forward.

I have been using Comfort Authority for several years on several houses. They are always professional and don't leave till they solve the issue and the customer is satisfied. Today Glenn was my tech again and he used all available resources to solve the leak in the system.

Rick Haven an amazing tech. He came to repair one of the AC units. The service was not able to be completed due to parts that need to be ordered. He explained all steps of the issue. He also explained why I should have a monthly service plan. I enrolled. It was a no brainer. He stated that Tuesday Morning or evening the problem will be solved if all go well. I will follow up this review after the issue has been resolved. So far Rick is an A+. Like the other Techs from this company.

I'm a proud and happy "member" with the business and I rely on them consistently.***** I called with an issue about my A/C unit which is old and on its last legs. The crew was pretty prompt and I had someone out to my house to check things out by the next day. They were professional, courteous, and seemed to really know their stuff. Using some impressive technology they showed me problem spots in the home, areas in the attic that needed immediate attention, and pointed out the downfalls of my current system. I was charged for a new capacitor to get the system up and going and received a comprehensive write-up with various replacement system options within 5 days. When my unit stopped working soon after the crew left, the owner Steve called and offered to refund my Home Warranty service payment and service my system for the next 12 months free-of-charge. That kind of follow-up is what makes this company unique and makes me satisfied with the choice I made.

Glenn was able to resolve the issue that had taken the other technician 5 hours to try to figure out with no avail, and whom had subsequently, caused a transformer to blew do to improper wiring, which was extremely dangerous and unsafe for our family and home. Glenn was very professional, knowledgeable, and had a great attitude. Again, none of which was experienced with the previous company. He educated us and remained onsite to ensure the issue was fully resolved. As should be expected when working with a business, we were provided with expectations from start to finish, so that nothing would come as a surprise or be executed without our consent. Hopefully, we won’t need to seek out HVAC services anytime soon.

Woke up to a new AC that wasn’t working. Previous owner purchased extended warranty, so I called. Within 5 hours my AC is up and working again (clogged water line from humidity and shared pipes with other condo units.) Rick H is a wonderful technician. He explained everything to me and helped me trouble shoot ahead of future rainy seasons.

08/20/2025 Adding New Review to Previous Review Below Today we had our annual maintenance and today's technician was Luis. Great guy and very professional and knowledgable! After he preformed his service, he clearly explained what was done and things he saw that might need to be addressed in the future. He made sure we understood everything he explained so we had no questions before he left. He also made sure there was no mess left behind and everything looked like it did before his arrival. We have been with The Comfort Authority for 9 years now and can not say enough good things about them. Owning a home you meet many home service companies and many disappoint. The Comfort Authority is not one of those. This company is a keeper! They are very honest and provide great service! They also stand behind their work. Sept. 2024 Previous Review I think we have been with The Comfort Authority for 8 years. They are a top notch company. Michael Kennedy, our last technician, was great. All the technicians have been great. We have been been very happy with The Comfort Authority.

My tenant texted me this morning that water was leaking through the access hatch in their closet-where the air handler is- it is Saturday and I am out of the country, so I was nervous about getting someone over before the ceiling collapsed! I’m a Comfort Authority maintenance plan member, and they were able to get Glenn out within a couple of hours. It was a simple loose pipe connection, and they fixed it quickly- no charge. I love that I am able to depend on this company and situations like this. This is why I have had two units installed by them over the past few years and’s continue to use them.

8/5/2025 Luis and Ura installed a leaking coil in my attic. It was a big job and they did it perfectly. Right on time, very efficient, started at 8:30 and finished by 1:00. They did a wonderful job! Rick was right on time and very thorough. Informed and explained each step and offered options. Supplied written reports and pictures. Very well done. 12/15/23 Installed new heat pump on Dec 15 2023. Installation was conducted by Gary Clark, Zack and Peter. The whole job took only 7 hours and was done with minimal inconvenience. Very clean and no damage to the walls or floor. Very well done. The technicians were polite, knowledgeable and competent. Better than I expected, 5 stars all around. 12/20/23 Peter and Zack returned on Dec 20 to check things out and adjust some pressures to maximize the performance. Very prompt service and again, well done, 5 stars 7/26/24 Glenn was on time and kept me informed. Spent wuite a bit of time getting things right. Even had shoe covers. Well done 3/26/25 Had my HVAC system inspected today. Raymond Moudy was early and keep me informed of his early arrival. Job was thorough and done on time with no disruptions. 5 Stars

Wonderful experience from begining to end. Received a quote yesterday and was scheduled for installation today. Every person I have been in contact with has been awesome. Derek who came out first ensured I could understand what was going on and what would happen next. He was also gracious enough to speak to my dad as he had a lot more questions. I never felt pressured and felt like they gave it to me straight and put more thought into what I needed versus trying to upsell me and I always appreciate that. Then Gary and Robert came out for the installation and made the process even better. They were awesome! Came in nice and early and were here a better part of 8 hrs. They were well spoken, super friendly and took me on a tour of my new system before they left. Mr. Glenn Sanchez Betancourt was our technician today for an emergency service call on our air conditioner. He was extremely responsive, answering the call after work hours. His professionalism and expertise were exemplary in every aspect. He was thorough in his assessment, staying focused on the needed repairs and avoiding the sales pitch that everyone typically gets from an emergency AC repair call. I used Google to check the pricing of his repairs and he was on par especially given the responsiveness and his efforts to keep us apprised of the specifics of the repair. This company will be our first call from this point forward.

Today was my first experience with The Comfort Authority. There was no emergency, just a routine maintenance service check. Great communication from the HQ on appt scheduling, Great professional service by the technician (Austin). He found and removed a big wasp nest that had been built inside the compressor housing near the electronics. My unit is 8yrs old but operating excellent and he didn't try to scare me into buying a new system. He did however provide some good options to consider should something go bad, but otherwise I may have 2-10 more good years with this unit. I will use them again.

I have been very pleased with my experiences with the comfort authority over the past 3 years. Last night (Friday) my AC quit on me, of course there was a heat wave on Saturday. Thankfully, a tech (Rick) came out and got us back up and running - sparing us the sauna effect. Rick was fantastic, explained everything to me and was incredibly patient while I wrangled my barking monsters 🐶 🐶

Update 2025: I have continued to use The Comfort Authority to service my AC since installation. The technicians are always prompt, knowledgeable and friendly. This visit Luis performed maintenance and completed everything thoroughly. Luis is professional, informative and a genuine good guy. I’ll continue to use them and recommend this company to others. The Comfort Authority replaced my air conditioner two weeks ago after a bad experience with another company. Everyone at The Comfort Authority was knowledgeable, friendly, seemed to enjoy their jobs and are happy with the company they work for. From the first contact with Derek to the final QC with Peter, they answered all my questions, showed up when they said they would, performed the install and cleaned up afterwords. I was not pressured by Derek for a sale and he worked with me to select the right solution which was installed the next day. A lot of respect for these guys working in the attic for 10 hours, in Florida, in the summer. Justin, Rae and Seth (and Peter and one other person were here for a bit), worked non stop during a long day. They were friendly and explained the process throughout the day. They even brought a portable AC unit for me to use in my home office the day of the install. Overall, this company seems to be efficient, knowledgeable, professional and has trained their team members well. The employees and how they treat their customers make or break a company so hats off to the owner and thanks to: Derek, Peter, Justin, Rae, Seth and Beverly who all represented this company very well. My AC stopped working last Friday night and I called right before 5 p.m. I had a call back early the next morning and they were there a couple hours later. Rick H. was very helpful and told me exactly what my options were and what was necessary and what could be done in addition to help prevent further issues. He helped find ways to get me the best deal and showed me what the most reasonable options were to fix the current issues. Overall, excellent experience and will be using them again in the future!

Great group of people. We installed a new A/C system replacing my old 16 year old system. They installed a Goodman system that works great. Goodman has great reviews. The Comfort Authority was recommended by a close friend. After experiencing their service, I see why they have so many 5 Star reviews. Would highly recommend them for all HVAC needs. Austin Smith was fantastic.

Edward & Anthony (plumbers) came out to do annual inspection. Found that my water heater needed maintanence & my bathroom sink that was involved in Hurricane Milton had connections under the sink that had become corroded. Edward gave me an estimate to fix them. They fixed them on the spot! Edward gave me estimates to replace a too small shower and a rusting tub. These estimares were just for pans and tear out, but reasonable comoared to other estimates. Also recommended a warer filtration system and provided an estimate. Austin (AC), came out to do annual maintanence and did a very thorough job on both the inside and outside units. He recommended a UV filtation system. All 3 employees were kind, thorough in their work and explanations. They cleaned up after themselves and listened to my concerns and questions. I am Extremely Happy with Edward, Anthony and Austin's work today. I love the Comfort Authority--truly The Best in my book.

Of particular note was their willingness to provide information about the installation of our unit in layman’s terms. Seth and Ren are great assets for the Comfort Company. June 27th Rick is quite an asset to your company. He is personable and committed to providing the highest level of service. With the heat I was worried my AC was not functioning well so I requested a diagnostic visit from comfort authority w. Glenn came out yesterday and was very thorough, professional and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain everything to me and then gave me some quotes I asked for to correct an issue with my vents. Very reasonable quotes. I was very happy with Glenn and would recommend Comfort Authority to anyone needing AC work done June 25th 2025 Just to follow up to my review last year. My AC has not been cooling to the temperature that I have it set at. Tends to warm up in the middle of the day, but reaches the lower temperature overnight. I called comfort Authority to schedule an appointment just to do an investigation into what might be going on. I got an appointment pretty quickly and Austin and Rick came out today, right on time. They spent a significant amount of time and were very thorough in checking everything out. Even though I had CA service the AC earlier this year they still cleaned it out and did some work on it. There was no cost as the AC was under warranty But I have to say both of them were so friendly and professional, and I didn’t feel any pressure to do anything today They did let me know what was wrong with the unit and what my options were. I was very comfortable with that conversation. I definitely feel like they were being very honest and trustworthy. Again, I would highly recommend The Comfort Authority for your air conditioning needs. Especially if they are all like Austin and Rick!

Seth was extremely helpful and explained what the problem was and how it was going to be fixed and was patient with all the questions I had. Update. Continue to use Comfort Authority for annual maintenance. Had a bad clog in drain and was able to clean out and gave options for fix. Appreciate the diligence and communication Michael provided. I had an A/C company cancel on me and called Comfort Authority. They were able to come in an hour and diagnose and fix the problem. They were thorough in explaining their process and what needed to be fixed and upfront with the costs beforehand.

Mike was right on time. He explained and showed me the problem. Also said that the uv lights needed to be replaced. He showed me the upper light was burned out and that it was causing mold. The technician, Glenn, was awesome. He went far and beyond... He got rid of a wild animal's caca in the backyard and he called later in the day when I was freaking out because my AC wasn't pausing after maintenance. He said that is normal due to the AC not working the previous day. He was right. My AC paused two hours after he called. It took 9 hours to reach 75 degrees in the house. Glenn called the next day to make sure all was ok. Thank you Glenn!

Luis came to check out our AC system. He let us know he was on the way. He was very professional and even wore protective foot covering into the house. Once he completed his diagnostic, he let us know what the issue was , providing pictures and videos, so we knew exactly what he was speaking about. He made recommendations on the steps to take and gave us several quotes for different scenarios. We had a different company out the day before and the experience was extremely different. My a/c has not been cooling things down so I knew something was terribly wrong. I called The Comfort Authority because they had originally installed my a/c system in my house. They sent out the technician Glenn Betancourt to assess my issue. He found the issue pretty fast, a fried circuit board inside my air handler. He explained everything in detail and that they would need to order the circuit board to come in so he can follow up with the repair. My tech David Hood was very professional and efficient. He took time to fully explain everything to me. He identified dangerous mold within our air conditioning system that has been the cause of constant sickness of my little ones for the past three months. He installed the necessary UV and filtration systems necessary to kill off the mold and restore air quality to our home. Not cheap… but we’ll worth the price.
